Through a Federally funded program of the Administration on Aging, Food For Life's Southcare offered services to facilitate
seniors’ lives at home, help them maintain their independence,
while, at the same time, keeping them in familiar surroundings.
This program was invaluable since family members can’t always provide the necessary care to the
elderly, and proved to be a much more cost effective way to deal with the needs of Seniors than placing them in Nursing Homes or Hospitals. The Seniors trirved in their homes as opposed to rapidly deteriorating in strange and unfriendly surroundigns. Services included:
- Home-delivered meals
- Preventive maintenance & repairs
- Transportation to shoppping, doctors, dentists, etc.
- Homemaker, companion & sitter services
Client System Software tracked all of the Services provided to these Seniors and the outcomes that documented the successes of the Program.
